Nuked Out!

Fallout Online a really good idea but will it pass the test of the fallout series we have grown to love?  I wish I knew.  The tormenting tiny email hints they send seem to give me no hope as to what is to come.  I want to see footage and a site full of material!  So the big question is what's the big secret?  Looking through the email links it seems to have some pretty odd ideas for weapons.  One looks like it's almost from Gears of War.  Interplay is laid claim that they will indeed start the beta tests in the early 2012 and have the game out my the second half of 2012. (By Eurogamer)  Will it be worth it?  We will see!

What do you want?

This is a blog about MMOs, online gaming, game ideas, and experiences.  I want this blog to represent you so please give me your feedback on what you would like to hear about.  I want to get you details about games you've never heard about and absolutely have to try!  Also get your feedback and plan some events!  Everything starts from some where and I've started it.  Now I just need you!  What's your favorite genre?  What genre do you want to see utilized more?  Do you like PvP or PVE?  Do you play with low age tech or are you up to date?  I would like to help you out in all these areas.  Leave some comments and lets get at it!

Super you!

DC Universe is all about making you the new Hero/Villain in Gotham City.  You start out with a mentor of sorts and get guided along on your path to saving or taking over the world.  There are many items to choose form to make your character for the most part pretty unique and weather you are good or bad you can make you character look like either.  Now you aren't tied down to one look and if you find something better down the line you can change it.  The one thing I felt was kind of a pain was the three color limit you were set to for you costume, but that's neither here nor there.

You get three choices fly, speed, or acrobats.  None of them really limit you too bad and you just as agile with one choice as you are the next.  You don't have a stamina bar for these items so as long as you aren't fighting or being attacked you can go as long as you want.  You are super "human" by the way.

The fighting in the game is pretty cool and quite simple but limits you to 6 buttons.  Which can be quite irritating when you have about 20 choices and you want to use all of them.  I find it funny that a can of cola is your health item.  most of your attacks are button combinations through your mouse which makes fighting pretty easy.  I found though that since it is a new game the respawn rate on the enemies was way too high and it might be a good idea to stick with groups of friends.

The PvP was okay but you play as an iconic character and I personally didn't really like it.

PVE events were pretty fun and keep you engaged, and have a lot going on in them.  They brought the story to the table in a pretty fun way.  Plus the boss fights were pretty challenging and fun.  The events were essentially your dungeons though I would say they still aren't as elaborate as something you would find in WoW.

Communication with friends tending to be a pain and very difficult to get at.  I think they should really make this an easy feature to get to.  Though there event system (dungeon finder) was very easy to manage.  Over all I think the game was fun but I don't know if I would consider myself dedicated to it.

Pirates in SPACE!

An adventure for free and looks amazing!  Allods is a fantasy adventure you can't pass up.  With two dueling factions you level yourself up to an eventual dual in astral space.  Guild run ship float through astral space taking on amazing conflicts.

This is one of the most exciting free to play games I've ever joined.  I know usually I cringe at the sound of free to play but this one has been great from the beginning.  Unfortunately I haven't played enough to get into the end game details because I get drawn where my friends are.  This game is truly a beauty and if you want to try something new and don't want to spend a dime this is the game.

The graphics are comparable to WoW with it's cartoon look but it truly looks amazing.  Plus it's a lot of fun if you use 3d glasses :)

It is a European game meaning it's not the typical grind grind grind you see in Asian F2P mmos.  I think if you're looking at getting away from the well known this is the way to go!

Global Agenda a monster of SciFi

There are very few choices in the MMO for a truely good MMO.  Global Agenda takes the award for best in my book.  Although if you look at the traditional ideas of MMO it doesn't quite fit the build.  It's doesn't have a very extensive PVE element to it but it is there.  I personally love this game for it's elaborate PvP system.  It's one of the most exciting times I've had ever in PvP.  It has a perfect blend of swords and guns and can tailor to any play style.  There is flying with jetpacks which also adds an addition of fun to the mix.

Many of the players in game are pretty cool and are willing to work with you and have fun and unlike WoW you can actually finish a group PVE mission without worrying if people are going to continuously drop out.  Like I said though this games many goal is the PvP element.  Gear in the game is mainly just for show.  You could literally run around naked and be a great player.  The good thing about this system is that you can be how you want to be.  In order to have better stats you need to use these armor spheres and get good stats on your equipment.  Which is perfectly fine with me :) the fast paced game play reminds me of the good old days of Quake and Unreal Tournament.

There are four classes.  Recon, Robotics, Medic, and Assault.  Recon is your rogue based class.  Which is fast paced and your main duty is to be a sneaking assassin.  Robotics is my favorite class.  You run around making turrets, medical stations, and many other mechanics so that you can buff and save your team.  Basically your pet based class but better.  Though the job is very difficult and keeping your turrets alive can be one of the most challenging things around.  Medics job is pretty obvious but unlike the ideas of priests and all the other healing mechanics out there medic is actually fun.  You go around "shooting" your team mates to keep them alive while healing yourself in the process.  This is an important job and a great combination with our next class the Assault.  Assault is your equivalent to a tank.  Running around with heavy guns and blasting everything in sight.  A very important class for defending.  All classes can be made and they all share the loot and money under one name.  The only loot they don't share is the class specifics.  I actually find this kinda nice.

Agencies are your equivalent to guilds.  They lead you to be able to do AvA which is short for Agency vs Agency.  You have a Hex map which you PvP battle other Agencies for control and for the ultimate title of best Agency.

Higher up items in the game are pretty expensive and it's highly recommended you pay for a booster.  It's worth the money and it doubles everything you need.  it makes leveling alot faster and free tokens.  Basically its like pay a month to month, but on your time.

Ultimately if you love PvP and SciFi this is your game!  See you in game.

The Giant World Of Warcraft!

What makes this giant so big?  Well I believe it just the simplicity it takes to just dive right in.  The complications are there but you never see them until you get into the end game.  When you get there you either die off or become so enveloped you refuse to let it go.  The beauty of its UI is the ability to take great add ons and make the game more to your liking.  Too many MMOs lack the touch of freedom we as gamers need to make it ours.  I also think customization is key though amazingly enough I think this is one thing the great WoW never got.  APB got it right but they ruined the game with it's terrible game play.  People need to be able to bring their creativity in.  That's what gets you hooked and makes you lose out on everything around you.  I've play many many MMOs and none have been as popular as WoW.  Not to say it's the only one worth playing though.  World of Warcraft has been considered the cookie cutter mold that everyone needs to make a successful MMO but I think they are wrong!  The Old Republic seems to have a huge fan base rising out of the ashes.  I think this year we may see a change in history.  Bioware rarely disappoints.
